Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 4, 2026. Deter Cam is built to process your camera locally. This page explains what that means in practice.
Who we are
Deter Cam is a browser extension that applies a retro dither effect to your webcam inside Microsoft Teams on the web. Contact: dev@nnnada.com.
Camera & video data
When you enable the effect, the extension reads frames from your camera inside the browser, processes them with a local WebGL shader, and provides the result to the Teams page as a media stream.
- Camera frames are not uploaded to our servers.
- We do not operate a backend that receives, stores, or analyzes your video.
- Audio from your microphone passes through without modification by Deter Cam.
Settings we store
The extension uses browser storage (Chrome/Edge extension storage) to remember preferences such as:
- Enabled / disabled state
- Algorithm, pixel size, tone levels, dither strength
- Contrast, brightness, duotone colors
These values stay in your browser profile. They are not transmitted to us.
Permissions
Deter Cam requests the minimum permissions needed to function:
- storage — save your effect settings
- Content scripts on Teams web domains — intercept camera access and apply the effect
Camera permission is granted by you to the page / extension preview through the browser’s normal permission prompt.
Analytics & tracking
The extension does not include third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or telemetry that phones home.
This marketing website may be served by a host that collects standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request path). We do not use that to identify you personally for advertising.
Children
Deter Cam is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised policy.
